The DT Reveal is happening at ScrapbookDreamer.com over the next few days and a bunch of new challenges have been posted – love those!  This month I was super happy to play with Marks Paper Company August and Old Fashioned Courtship collections.

V&L – this LO features my good friends, Veronica and Laura.

And I borrowed my friend Mara’s Birds & Branches Sizzix die – the die cuts added the perfect touch – thanks Mara!

Cardstock: Bazzill
Pattern Paper: Crate Paper; Marks Paper Company
Alphas: JoAnn Stores (cork); Heidi Swapp (chipboard)
Alpha Stickers: Making Memories
Gems: Horizon Group USA
Die Cutting System: Sizzix (Birds & Branches Border Die)
Punches: Marvy Uchida
Ink: Tsukineko
Other: Ranger Distress Stickles; Ranger Inkessentials Mini Misters

Designer Notes: I fussy cut designs from the pattern paper and punched some scalloped circles. I then inked and misted with water using a Ranger mini mister, crumpled the papers into a little ball, unfolded them (but didn’t flatten them out) and let them dry. Once dry, the smaller pieces of paper were layered to make the flowers. The photo and title were then mounted on pop dots to create dimension over the crumpled paper.

Friends – this LO features Laura & Jessica.

And the journaling is hidden behind the photo:

Cardstock: Bazzill
Pattern Paper: Creative Imaginations; Marks Paper Company
Canvas Alphas: Making Memories
Crystal Swirls: Prima
Journaling Page: Making Memories
Other: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist; Bienfang Watercolor Brush Pen; Ranger Distress Stickles; Halcraft Glass Beads; Horizon Group USA Rhinestone Flowers
Ink: Tsukineko

Designer Notes: I fussy cut the piece of Marks Paper Company pattern paper. I then used it as a guide to place an angled piece of cardstock and die cut circle behind it – love the rounded top of this LO. I misted the die cut circle with Glimmer Mist and adhered it to the cardstock. I then used a watercolor brush to add color to three of the flowers on the Marks paper. I then mounted the Marks paper on top of the cardstock/die cut background with pop dots. I added beads, gems, and Stickles to the flower centers and Stickles to my alphas. Once everything was dry, I mounted the photo and alphas using pop dots.

Watching Over Me – my little collection of Willow Tree Angels.  This is also my first cardboard background LO – I’ll definitely use cardboard again.

Pattern Paper: Marks Paper Company
Alphas: Heidi Swapp
Journaling Die Cut: Jenni Bowlin Studios
Paper Flowers/Leaves: Prima
Punch: EK Success
Glimmer Mist: Tattered Angels
Ink: Tsukineko
Other: Cardboard; Buttons; Sizzix Die Cutting System (Birds & Branches border die); Ranger Inkessentials Mini Mister

Designer Notes: I peeled off some of the cardboard paper front to reveal the corrugated area. I then sprayed the cardboard background with Glimmer Mist. I fussy cut pattern paper, and misted the smaller pieces with water, cumpled them into a ball, and then opened them back out but did not flatten them to let them dry. I also used my trimmer to cut extremely narrow strips of pattern paper, rolled the strips around a pencil and then incorporated the curls into the flower cluster. Once the alphas were adhered in place, I lightly sanded and then applied ink.

And the April Contest at ScrapbookDreamer.com features the Marks Paper Company Old Fashioned Courtship collection.  Create and enter a LO using this collection for a chance to win a $25 shopping spree to the store.
