Two of my good online friends, Laura and Colleen, both recently awarded me this blog award – how cool is that!  Thanks so much ladies.

Here are the rules:
1.  The winner may put the logo on their blog.
2.  Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3.  Nominate 5 blogs.
4.  Provide links to their blogs.
5.  Leave a message for your nominees.

And I’m sharing the love by nominating the following 5 blogs:

Laura – my good friend and one of my Saturday scrapping partners.

Mara – another good friend in real life, an awesome card maker and scrapbooker, especially altered items.

Karen – Karen and I are on the UA DT together and I always look forward to seeing her work with the kits.

Keri – another fellow DT member at UA.  I find Keri’s style to be so fresh.

Congrats ladies!

Jessica, you are the new owner of the 25 Days of Christmas album in the below post.  And, since you are local and my friend, I’m happy to deliver it to you in person.

Congrats!

And before I go, I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!  May your day be filled with family, good friends, good food, good times…

A Little Something for Busy Scrappers… November 24, 2008

Filed under: Mini Albums — Kathi @ 8:19 am

Yesterday I showed you my 25 Days of Christmas album.  Well, after I created the album, I still had half sheets of all the papers I used.  So I thought for a minute and said to myself, “I’ll just make another album and give it away as a RAK on my blog.”  That’s exactly what I did.  I already had all of the supplies out, so I was able to create this album quickly.  The covers are black mat board.  And I’m calling it 97% Complete – why?  You’ll need to add numbers to the pages, but I suspect you have a lot of numbers in your American Crafts Thickers just like I do.  You’ll also need to supply your own 2″ binder rings.  If I happen to get out and buy mine before I mail this album off, I’ll supply them.  The rings shown are not included and they are too small anyway.

So, what are you getting.  A 6×8 album complete with 25 pages including transparent pages, trading card page protector, a bingo card, embossed felt, an envelope – refer to my post below to see details.  Yes, I even hand cut some of the pages in shapes.  I’m also throwing in some Making Memories die cuts and tags, American Crafts ribbon for the binder rings, and some numbers cut from Making Memories pattern paper.  I used a few of the numbers in my album as well.

So what do you have to do to receive this album?  Of course, commit to taking photos every day starting December 1 through December 25.  Because if you win this RAK, you’ll want to actually finish this album, right?  And, oh yeah, leave me a comment and tell me about a holiday tradition of yours.  If it’s your first time leaving me a comment, I have to approve it – but no worries, it will show up eventually.

I’ll mail this to any winner in the USA.  I’ll choose a random winner from comments left on this post on Thursday, Nov 27, in the AM EST.  And I’d like to get this in the mail on Friday or Saturday, so be sure to check back to see if you win.

Updated:  Canadian ladies – I don’t know how much shipping is to Canada, but if it’s not too much more I’m happy to do it.

25 Days of Christmas Mini Album November 23, 2008

Filed under: Mini Albums — Kathi @ 8:15 am

I decided to play along with Ali Edwards’ December Daily this year.  I started my 25 Days of Christmas album  last weekend and added a couple of pages to it every day last week and now the album is assembled and waiting for me to start taking daily photos on December 1.  I admit – it felt really good to use up some supplies, especially all those numbers that come with the American Crafts Thickers.  So, everything used to create this album already existed in my stash and I didn’t have to purchase a thing.  Well, I will need to get some 2″ binder rings – the blue ones below are just temporary since they are just barely large enough now.

Covers:  The front and back covers of this album are 6×8 canvas board that I purchased at Michael’s (3/pkg.) awhile ago with the intent of using them as album covers.  I had purchased Tattered Angels decorative screens and Glimmer Mist (Robin’s Egg, Burnt Red) from ScrapbookDreamer.com with no special project in mind and it felt good to use them for this project.  After temporarily adhering the screen, I applied Glimmer Mist in Robin’s Egg all over.  I then applied the Burnt Red to the lower right corner over the screen.  I let it dry for a minute and then blended with a slightly damp paper towel.  I love the shabby faded look.  The alphas are American Crafts Glitter Chipboard Thickers in Lax, the sticker is Creative Imaginations, and the round tag is from Denise L. Designs.  I had no problem punching holes through the canvas board with my Crop-A-Dile.

The inside of the front and back covers is covered with paper from Webster’s Pages.  Page 1:  I used a piece of Making Memories 8×8 die cut paper as a template to cut this page.  Three Bugs in a Rug paper; Making Memories die cut; American Crafts Foam Thickers in Cream Soda.

Page 2:  7Gypsies paper; Making Memories tag; American Crafts Velvet Thickers in Black Tie.  I also used my Fiskars Threading Water border punch on the edge of this page.

Page 3:  I used a piece of Making Memories 8×8 die cut paper as a template to cut this page.  Making Memories flocked pattern paper.  The number is also cut out of a piece of MM paper.

Page 18:  Basic Grey pattern paper (I traced a piece of Making Memories die cut paper); Making Memories die cut and tag; American Crafts Foam Thickers in Daiquiri.

Page 20:  Jenni Bowlin Studio bingo card; Making Memories die cut; American Crafts Vinyl Thickers in Sprinkles.

Page 21:  Hambly transparency; Making Memories die cut; American Crafts Felt Thickers in Sweater.

Page 22:  Making Memories and Creative Imaginations pattern papers; Making Memories die cut; American Crafts Velvet Thickers in Black Tie.

Page 23:  Specialty pattern paper (I traced a piece of Making Memories die cut paper); Making Memories tag; American Crafts Velvet Thickers in Black Tie.

Page 24:  Basic Grey pattern paper; Making Memories die cut and tag; American Crafts Velvet Thickers in Black Tie; Martha Stewart Crafts and Fiskars punches.

OK, that took a while to photograph and post.  I can’t wait to start taking photos on December 1.  I know this will be an album that I love when it’s done.

Be Happy November 22, 2008

Filed under: Mini Albums — Kathi @ 5:37 pm

I worked on this mini album last weekend @ Sweet Memories Scrapbooks where Laura, Jessica and I spent the day scrapping.  I didn’t have an opportunity to photograph it until today – that’s the one bad thing about this time of year, I’m at work when it’s daylight during the week.

The album is a Maya Road tabbed chipboard album and I used papers from Basic Grey, SEI, Scenic Route, Autumn Leaves, and Sassafras Lass – all of which make me happy!

Just a few of the things that are making me happy right now.

Sweet Memories Scrapbooks ~ New LSS in Georgia November 16, 2008

Filed under: Local Scrapbooking Fun — Kathi @ 11:24 am

Yesterday was a great day – of course, I hung out with Laura and Jessica and we even did a little scrapping.  Jessica and I met at Original Pancake House for breakfast (yum) and then headed out I-20 to meet Laura in Carrollton at Sweet Memories Scrapbooks for a day of scrapping goodness.  Sweet Memories is a new scrapbook store in west Georgia that just opened in August and is owned by Erin and Carolyn Waters.  The store is so cute and comfortable – nicely decorated, great product selection, and Carolyn took great care of us while we shopped and scrapped the day away.

Sweet Memories is a bit of a hike for me, but we all had such a great time that we are already planning future visits.

If you happen to be in the Carrollton, GA area or are even passing through, Sweet Memories Scrapbooks is definitely worth a stop.  I think you’ll love it as much as I did.

Nov DT Reveal @ SCRaPDANGo.com November 15, 2008

I had the pleasure of designing with the Spice kit this month – full of Collage Press Jackson Lodge and so many coordinating goodies.

And here are my layouts featuring some of my photos from Disney World in early October.

Virginia and her favorite Disney character:

My all-time favorite photo of my mom:

And the whole group @ Disney (me, Amanda, Krissy, Virginia, and Mara):

And a few cards:

And, don’t forget that SCRaPDANGo.com offers two monthly kits.  The Sugar kit this month is equally fantastic and features the Bella Blvd. Family Tree collection.

Yeah, I so had to have both kits this month!

I love fall, but it’s doesn’t love me – I’ve had a rough time with allergies this fall and have a sinus infection that kicked my bu$$ last week.  I’m slowly recovering, but am behind in paying attention to the blog.

I had fun with my Dreamer projects this month, especially the mini album.

The complete mini album can be viewed in my gallery at Dreamer along with the rest of the DT’s projects this month.
